in the foyer of the Schuster Laboratory (building number 54
on the campus map.) For latecomers, registration
will be possible throughout the conference at the conference help desk.
19 July (Thursday) evening, 7:00pm to 8:00pm: Welcome Reception
in the Great Hall and Banqueting Rooms of Manchester's spectacular
Town Hall,
located
on the Albert Square in the City Centre.
20 July (Friday), 6:00pm to 8:00 pm: Beer Tasting
in the Renold Building (number 8 on the
campus map).
Featuring locally-brewed beers from the
Boggart Hole Clough Brewery.
21 July (Saturday) 9:00am - 1:00pm: Tour of Daresbury Laboratory
Sign up at registration if you would like to visit
the Daresbury Laboratory on Saturday
morning. Limited to 53 participants; first come first served.
22 July (Sunday): Excursion
Possible outings:
Final choice of excursion, and payment (in cash only please) to be made at registration.
23 July (Monday), 7:30pm: The Conference Dinner
in
The Palace Hotel on Oxford Street in Manchester's City Centre.
24 July (Tuesday), 7:30pm: Brass Band Concert
Historically, many industries in the United Kingdom sponsored brass bands
with players drawn from their work forces. Many of these bands still exist,
including Manchester's own Fairey Band,
one of Britain's top brass bands, who will perform for us in Bridgewater Hall on
Tuesday evening.
