Utah Roadtrip - Friday 6th to Saturday 14th July 2007
On this roadtrip my brother, Max, and I drove 1813.1 miles from Las Vegas, round the 'Grand Circle' of National
Parks in Southwestern USA.
We spent 8 nights on our trip, visiting 5 states, 7 National Parks, 3 Navajo Tribal Parks, 2 National Monuments
and 1 State Park!
- We flew into Las Vegas (A) and hired a car.
- We spent our first night in Zion National Park, UT (B).
- The second night was spent in Bryce National Park, UT (C).
- We drove through Capitol Reef National Park, UT (D).
- Moab, UT (E) is where we spent the next 2 nights. From there we visited Canyonlands
National Park and Arches National Park.
- We spent the fifth night in Mesa Verde National Park, CO (F).
- Next, we drove through the Monument Valley Navajo Park to Page, AZ (G).
We spent the next 2 nights here, on the bank of Lake Powell.
- While staying in Page we popped back into Utah to see The Wave (H). We also
visited Antelope Canyon, a Navajo Tribal Park just south of Page.
- The south rim of the Grand Canyon National Park, AZ (I) is were we spent the
eighth night.
- We spent our last day in Las Vegas, NV (J) before flying out at midnight.
Here's the mileometer of our hired car when we handed it back - we drove 1813.1 miles but it rolled over at 1000.
This is a lot of miles, especially considering I was the only driver on this trip.
