ESLEA: ATLAS Lancaster - Manchester Topology, Plans & Tests

manc logo eslea logo lanc logo

The network tests will measure and compare the end2end performance of the current production link and the UKLight path between the Lancaster and Manchester parts of the distributed GridPP Tier 2 Centre. The performance of data moving applications such as bbcp, bbftp, http, and Gridftp will be examined and compared with the measured RAID performance at the end hosts. The UKLight path will also give the opportunity to test how SRM and the underlying file access layer, dcache or xrootd, perform when distributed over the Tier 2 Centre.

This page collects the network diagrams that describe the general topology and configuration details at each site.
It also gives the results of the network tests.
